Here's a quick screenshot (http://www.members.shaw.ca/larry.s/nolf2a.jpg).
So far the game plays well. It recommends a P4 2.0 w/GF4 for max settings but it plays fine on my 2.2 w/GF3Ti200 at max settings.
Found one bug in the beginning movie. I only heard the voices about half the time. Going to check the sound settings.

games are getting that way :). the enemy AI is getting alot smarter,
i rember back a few years ,where within 10 mins a glitch would be found and you could beat the enemys on the hardest level.
.e.g Goldeneye on N64 when the enemy shoots a long barreled weapon at you run right up and stand in front of them, the barrel would go straight through ,leaivng the end of it at the other side of your body, and the bullets would come from the end of the barrel(obviusly)and not hit you. :)
well those times are gone , which makes for a better challenge.

oh and i started it last night while sleeping seems to have been disconnected and only done 15%.lol

Pure Luck,
As to why you cannot get far in the game, could be as to the title of the game. J/K The graphics look really good in the game. Might try the demo.

hehe, that could be it. Having trouble with the sound though. Can't hear any speech which makes it sort of hard. Brwosing around some of the NOLF2 forums reveals that it is a very common problem. Especially with SB Live's but also with other cards. I've tried all suggestions offered to no avail. Guess I'll wait and see if they make a patch for it.

Is the problem in the demo too, Pure Luck?

yes, it's in the demo. I got it working after messing with it off and on all day. I ended up removing the Fraunhofer codec, rebooting, and then running the WMADist.exe that's in the setup. Checked to make sure it put the Fraunhofer codec back and that it had #1 priority. Launched the game and finally heard all the voices and everything. Seems to be a problem with the way the wavs are compressed or whatever. Evidently any third party codecs might make it not work but it's working fine for me now even after installing Nimo codec pack again.
Some people have had no trouble at all yet many have had the same problem I had. Some get it working like I did and yet some don't. Still a nice game though.

well i think i jinxed myself Bigtime here ,
the biggest file in the ZIP file was corrupt DATA2.CAB(160MB).
Error: invalid compressed data to inflate ,was the error.
(anyone know how to get a file out of the zip that has an error, i might be able to do somthing with it then.)
leaving it usless , i get to see the installation screen for one sec.
so the big Question.
Was it worth the 16hrs ova three days to d/l.?????
well i guess i'll just have to hire it when it comes out,
it just went gold so i think it should be here within a month.

Hey, all.
Myst, which mirror did you DL it from? I got mine from Gigex, and had no trouble. I've used them before on Dial-up, with no hassles at all, and no waiting, like on some servers (Can we say "File Planet"? )
As to the game itself, I'm not as fond of this type of shooter as I am of others, since I like my virtual mayhem to be a bit more gratuitous, but the gameplay is smooth, and the graphics are great(read: "The femmes are all... Well... you know! ). All in all, if you want a {gag}"plot"{/gag} with your violence, then this game will be worth the time and effort to get. :D

hey Dave :).
i got the demo from here "http://games.telenet.be"
lol i'll do wahtever i can to avoid Filesitinlineforeverplanet
i have been gettign a fair few wasted d/l's latly mostly only small ones, but this got my panties in a bunch.
but hey not much i can do about it :).
i just wanted it to chew a couple of hours (after the 16 it alrdy did)
i reinstalled Q3 arena ,never really got into it,so i thought i mose well give it a whirl.it's been chewing sum hours.sumone needs to teach me wat strafe jumping is though as im sure as hell its not Strafe to the side then jump as youd think it would be.
if i dint have dial up i'd be sure to d/l the file again, actully the Broadband here puts you on a 3gig (up n down together) limit so on second thought maybe not.
well im starting to ramble (like usual)lol.
