GeForce Ti 4600

How does your current card compare to the GF4 Ti 4600? Go here (http://www.visiontek.com/g4_ti46.shtml#) and click the Analyze button. Here's my results (http://www.members.shaw.ca/dam.it/mad.jpg). A 39% increase isn't enough to make me rush out and buy one just yet.

That is the card I have. It is a Visiontek Xtasy GeForce 4 TI 4600 128 MB DDR AGP. And it is running at 100%. Pure Luck, That 39% is more than a third faster than what you have now.

Yes, but I think I can live with the 230+ fps (http://www.members.shaw.ca/dam.it/fps.jpg) I'm getting in Q3 now. :D

What rez are you running it at to get that high of a frame rate? Anything over 20 frames per second, and your will not notice the difference. I like to run at insanely high rez. 1600 by 1200 32 bit color. On a 19 inch .20 Dot pitch screen, is awesome looking.

I run at 1024x768. You might not notice a difference with anything over 20fps but Q3 sure does. Sweet spot to set your maxfps at in Q3 is 125fps. I can easily prove that having your maxfps at 125 and achieving that lets you do more things easier such as jump into the hole where the megahealth is in Q3DM13. It's extremely difficult to make that jump from the floor at anything lower or higher than a maxfps setting of 125. You can also come out from where the yellow armor is in that map and jump right across that open spot right outside the door. You basically can jump higher and farther with more manuverabilty on all the maps if you're running a steady 125fps.
If you want to test it out, the DM13 map is the best one to try it on. The command to change your maxfps is
/com_maxfps 125 <---or whatever number you want there. Much higher than 125 will not make any difference.

I have play the living daylight out of Q3A, And I think I might have done that without the change. Will try it again soon, and post the results here. Do you have Q3TA?

I never cared for TA once I got it. I like Threewave and JB/POW though JB/POW is about dead and I haven't played Threewave in months. I still play Q3 daily but almost exclusively FFA with almost the same group of people I started playing with when Q3 Test came out. I also enjoy custom maps and have a ton of them. Last clan I was in has an OSP server running 100% custom maps. I play there once a week or so. The clan I'm in now has the ZTN maps and the rest are baseq3 on our server. It's at 130.212.9.113:27960 we also play a lot at 209.221.142.115:44321 The first one's in SanFran and the second's in Seattle. Stop in whenever you like and look for dAm.
You can also go here (http://www.larryshome.net/QuakeServers.htm) if you have or get the Q3 Plug and see who's there before joining. I'll be playing for the next little bit until the wife gets home and then we'll both be playing in one of the last two servers later tonight.

hey PL , so you have a Wife that games with you,i wish it was like that with my g/f,lol actully when i think about she would make a good pard in gaming, i rember leaving my desk for a mintue with Sof II running while she was around ,when i came back she was fraggen away .and every now and then she'll give me a game of CTF wif bots on UT,beats my little bro's @ it too.

Yep, she only plays Q3 though. She tried UT once but didn't like it. I got her hooked back when the Q3 Test came out. She's pretty darn good too. She's also in the same clan as I am and plays with us every night. I remember when Q3 Arena was first released right before Christmas a couple years ago. She went out and bought me a copy and I went and bought her a copy. It was touching. :D
