I'm a newbie to programming.. Where is there a good website to learn about this stuff?

If you don't know what language you're interested in, I'll suggest Java. You can get a compiler and runtime environment from <a href="http://java.sun.com" target="_blank">Sun's Java Site</a> for free and they have tutorials. It's not necessarily the easiest language to learn, but it's possibly the most complete for a newbie. <img src="graemlins/evil.gif" border="0" alt="[Evil]" /> Otherwise you could try C/C++. There are free compilers available for them too if you like, such as <a href="http://www.mingw.org/" target="_blank">MinGW</a>. If you have access to Visual Basic, that's a great newbie language and allows you to program real applications quickly - as long as you are only interested in windows. ;)
