Ok guys, since you've been so great in the past for me, I've gone and registered yet ANOTHER username here just to get your advice. (eep, like all I need is another username! http://www.helpfromtechs.com/ubb/smile.gif )

Anyway....
So, I've noticed that all of a sudden, when I go to upload something online and you click the browse to find it on your drive, right, when I click the "files of type" it gives me this list now:

HTML
Text (*txt)
Executable (*exe)
All Files (*.)
JavaBeans
JavaBeans
JavaBeans
JavaBeans
JavaBeans
JavaBeans
JavaBeans
JavaBeans
JavaBeans
JavaBeans
Network Interface Plugin (*nip)
RMF (*rmf)
AU (*au)

etc. etc. etc....

Of course, my ponderment is what's with the JavaBeans thing, why are there so many of them, and where did this come from?

I don't even know if this is a virus, or just some bug, so sorry if this is in the wrong place. A net search came up with a valid programing language called JavaBeans, but I don't know anything about it nor have I installed any Java programs, etc.

Ok, thanks in advance guys!

Thanks Techguy...I have no clue what the heck it is. Did I mention it only shows up when I am uploading something? (for example, locally, if I'm looking for something and I choose the file type, it's not there?)

Thanks again...

A specification developed by Sun Microsystems that defines how Java objects interact. An object that conforms to this specification is called a JavaBean, and is similar to an ActiveX control. It can be used by any application that understands the JavaBeans format.

The principal difference between ActiveX controls and JavaBeans are that ActiveX controls can be developed in any programming language but executed only on a Windows platform, whereas JavaBeans can be developed only in Java, but can run on any platform.

If you have TweakUI you can try using their repair associations utility. If you dont have tweakUI, its part of PowerToys and can be download from here (http://www.helpfromtechs.com/download/powertoy.zip)

Hope this helps
