Is there an error message of some kind? Are the date and time ok? Bios problem? Surely there must be more than 'press F1 to continue'! If not, then, imho, must be an ornery computer. http://www.helpfromtechs.com/ubb/smilies/wink.gif Is it new? Or is just the problem new? A few more details, please.

Well, it's got to be hardware...you're not even making it to operating system by the sounds of it.

I'm moving this post to the hardware forum where I'm sure you'll get some great advice. http://www.helpfromtechs.com/ubb/smilies/smile.gif

My thought is bios problem.

Is the hard drive being properly recognized? How old is the computer? Maybe the battery is going? What brand of computer?

I'll think on it tonight, it's after midnight my time (actually, yours, too). Hopefully some other members will come up with brilliant suggestions during the wee hours of the night. See you tomorrow. http://www.helpfromtechs.com/ubb/smilies/wink.gif

I just saw a pc yesterday that did the same thing but it also stated that there was some sort of com port address conflict. Once I hit F1 it booted just fine. If it was me, I would try setting all my bios settings back to default settings, but messing with the bios can sometimes be risky. So I'm not actually suggesting you do that. I would hate for someone to totally crash because of something I told them to try.
