MY NEW CPU??

Hello all well I finally got my dream pc all hooked up and running fine!! except for my floppy dont know what is wrong with it !! Light always stays on but wont work ? I switched ribbon around light goes off but still wont work can you help?? Any way my real question is I used to use a 200mhz amd k6 processor 80 mb ram.. So I decided to upgrade to a really fast system.. So I bought a 1 gig thunderbird new athlon cpu 133 pc ram!! Well all is working now but nothing really seems differnt from old pc??
What kinda speed difference should I notice??
I know not on internet because that is modem base I dont play video games!! what other things should I notice for my bucks??

Well, Dan, sounds you're on the right track with the floppy cable. You say you switched the cable, did you verify you have it the right way around on the mb. Pin 1 is matched correctly? Did you try another cable?

Re the notice in speed, it actually sounds like your old system was meeting your needs. Since you don't play games or, by the sounds of it, do other labour intensive tasks (CAD,heavy graphics work)you may just notice the difference in terms of a smoother running system - not a "big blast of fast"!

You were correct dogg of demise it was wrong in my bios.. Bios has 5 different setting made it the highest density and now it is working fine thank alot!!
