View Full Version : is there a diffrence in ram?

i am thinking about buying some ram. some of the prices i have seen are unbeleaveable. is there a prob with the cheeper brands? if so what would you suggest? i need pc100 sdram. i also would like to get a second hd, any suggestions?

Some ram carries a warranty of one year and some is covered for life. The diff in price reflects this. Prices are low and now is the time to buy. Although DDR (double data?) is going to be released and it is twice as fast as sdram. This might be one reason for the low price of sdram.JT.

thanks ya'll,
i think i'll stick with sdram. twice as fast? i don't think i'll be able to see it if it's that fast.
i had heard that the cheeper ram had less cache. i'm not sure what that is or if it makes a difference.

PS get the pc133 It's cheaper and It will let you upgrade your cpu to a 133 FSB in the future.
