Whenever I attempt to launch Spider Solitaire, I get the following error message: "The Spider.Exe file is linked to missing export SHELL32.dll:SHGetSpecialFolderPathA" and a second message: "A device attached to the system is not functioning".
All other apps/games/etc are working fine. SHELL32.dll exists in my System folder. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Is this game part of the Operating system, or did you download it from the net?

Either way... try uninstalling it and reinstalling.

To uninstall if it is part of the OS:
go to start>>settings>>control panel>>add/remove programs>>windows setup.
take the check out of games.
click ok>>apply>>ok and reboot if prompted.

now go back to add/remove to reinstall. If this is 98 Plus you will need the 98 cd. If it is ME you will not.

to uninstall if it was a downloaded version:
go to start>>settings>>control panel>>add/remove programs.
remove spider solitare from the list.

now try to reinstall it.

sometimes things just go wrong when a program is writing to the disk. lets try a rewrite.
