Proxy Authentication

Hello friends,

I am working as a Software Professional at MyZus Infotech Pvt. Ltd. (India). Here I am working on a PDA project, Desktop Application for PDA/Palm Devices. In this project I have to write the desktop application for the synchronization purpose of PDA's & Palm's. I am using MFC in my application.
So I would like to know how to authenticate the Proxy Server in my MFC application. If so please let me know.

Just a suggestion,
Using NT's iis as an example.
Set challenge/response on a intranet page.
Have the user run a portal through the intranet page, there by using proxy, receiving cached requests. and security features. Novell is currently applying this to its new concept. xml/java usage is heavy.
