outlook express 5.5

hi i'm new here. following a reinstall of windows 98 and IE5, outlook express is doing weird things. the preview pane is active, but nothing displays in it. when i receive an email, nothing shows in the preview pane, and no attachment is obvious. the only way i can read the contents of my email is to click "forward", and in the forwarded window, an attachment is shown, i can click on THAT and read my email!! is this weird, or what.
i've uninstalled and reinstalled OE twice, also reinstalled IE5.5.
i'm getting nowhere fast except into a home for the bewildered ....

Well check all the settings / preferences and maybe reinstall again. This time clearing it completely off your machine. (keep your messages though by moving them somewhere else). http://www.helpfromtechs.com/ubb/smilies/smile.gif
