Hi all,

Its Great To Be Back In The Computer Lane Again. I'll Make try to make This Brief.

I have Office 2000 On A Win 95 Machine. It worked fine, Until One Day, I tried to click on the Format Bullets Button and Got The Following:

WINWORD CAUSED AN INVALID PAGE FAULT IN MODULE MSo9.dll At 016F:308c----- I forgot the rest.

Now the Only Thing That doesn't work is anything to do with formating bullets or list. Even Auto Format List don't work and I get the same error.

I've reloaded, uninstalled and reloaded office, replaced NORMAL.DOT, Replaced MSo9.dll with the one of the cd. I can't seem to find any help on MS website nor some of the other website. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

A Fellow Tech

Welcome! http://www.helpfromtechs.com/ubb/smilies/smile.gif

Did you try running the "Detect and Repair" option that Word has? It's under Help, and you'll need your disks.

I'll Try That Tomarrow, But I Don't See Why An Uninstall and Reinstall wouldn't be better than a repair. Well I'll Try It Tomarrow Morning and I'll post again then to let you all know.

Thanks

OK, The Detect and Repair Didn't Do A Darn Thing.

I also tried a Unistall and reload to get the job done and can't seem to figure out why that don't work either.

Is there anything in the registry that could be causing it or maybe a support file.

Any help as always is appreciated.
thanks

Try copying MSo9.dll from your CD.
Seems like its the one causing problem. But because I am using Office97 (yeah, still 97 http://www.helpfromtechs.com/ubb/smilies/wink.gif), i cant help you with the file itself..

Max, he said he had already copied the .dll from the CD. http://www.helpfromtechs.com/ubb/smilies/smile.gif
replaced NORMAL.DOT, Replaced MSo9.dll with the one of the cd.

Flipper, did you originally install 2000 over 97 or was it a clean install?
I asked Bill (http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q252/7/41.ASP?LN=EN-US&SD=gn&FR=0) a couple of questions (http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q241/5/81.ASP)

Have you installed the service release 1/1a?
faults fixed by SR1/1a (http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q245/0/21.ASP?LN=EN-US&SD=gn&FR=0)

Well ...

It was an install over the top of 97, I tried an office 97 Clean From Microsoft.com and then reinstalled 2000. Still Didn't work, But I don't think I remembered to delete the fold Microsoft OFfice.

The Office 2000 Disk Says SR-1 on it. and the download that MS has says its already installed.

I'm Stuck - Tell me when its time to format and reinstall.

I think the problem will be the install over top of 97.
Somewhere on the web is a tool to completely uninstall 97 - not the MS one as far as I can remember (It's own uninstall function doesn't do a good job). Sorry I don't have the link.

To be honest, looking through the sr1/1a list, I didn't think this particular problem was mentioned but it was the obvious next step (after the .dll re-extract etc)

Don't worry TG, I'm sure you're reading a hell of a lot more posts here than I am, you're entitled to miss the odd little thing http://www.helpfromtechs.com/ubb/smile.gif
