I have hard it crashes if you run the latest nVidia drivers. That's about all I heard on it.

I don`t know about this. There are two games that won`t run. Driver and U.T. I am going to try to reinstall them. M$ #%**&.JT.

Reinstalling did not help. I`m getting a asp4wave error which is sound related. I can get them to work if I back down on the hardware acceleration, bummer. There is no uninstalling, only a format of C. I`m blaming it on 8.0 but can`t prove it.JT.

Aureal Vortex. Most likely DX8`s fault. It would not be a problem if I could upgrade the drivers. But Aureal went to the big pci slot in the sky. I can get off on a new sound card as long as it is under $100. SB Live should fit in just fine. The funny part is that nothing has been written for DX8 yet,so if you have not installed it you don`t have to yet. If you wait you can avoid the bugs.JT.

Some user at another board had problems with his DVD player (in his comp) and had DirectX 8.0 on Win98...

It was not the dx8. I removed it,with dx buster, and reinstalled 7.0 and still have the same problems. Need another sound card.JT.
