This review is only based on the Demo that I downloaded from the net.

This is another first person shooter type game. You are a soldier sent in to do battle with the enemy on their own turf. The enemy AI works very well together, as they put up a well planned out defense. They will do everything they can to defeat you. I have seen them pop smoke, in an effort to hide their movement towards me. The weapons, they use to the fullest. They will hide and wait for you to pass them, before coming up from behind to cap you. You will learn quickly to listen for footsteps, so you know someone is coming for you.

There were only two levels in the demo to play. One is set in Columbian jungles, while the other is on board an ship at sea. So there are two different tactics you have to use to get thru them. You just don't run and gun in the ship level, cause they will sounds the alarm to your presence. making it that more difficult to finish the level.

The graphics in this game are very nicely rendered. What I liked about the ship ( Seaward Star ) level, is the way they rendered the rain affect. There are thousand of drops of rain exploding into smaller droplets on everything.

The sound is also quite nice too. The shotgun blast, to the machinegun fire, all sound great and pretty real. The game sounds great on a good sound system for your computer. I have a speaker setup that has a powered sub-woofer, and when something explodes, it rocks the walls.

The gameplay is something that I cannot review completely. Being that I only have the demo, I could play any other levels. But, I can tell you this. The levels I do have, will get a lot of use out of them.

Graphics= 9/10
Souns= 9/10
Gameplay= 8/10

Sounds like they changed the demo from the one I was playing. It only had one map. I got the full version last week on the day it was released here and in my opinion, it was well worth the money. Looks like I finally found a game that I might like almost as much as Quake 3 Arena. :D

yeah you would have had the multiplayer test PL,

i like the fact that it really doesnt matter if your ping is on the high side ,if u aim and shoot them in the head it does kill them just a few seconds later in stead of the bullet comign out a few seconds later and completly missing.

havent got my hands on the full version yet ,but from what i have seen and heard it looks like a winner.

I have since bought the game. It is great multi, and single player mode. And if you type in "raven 1" in the console, you can play any level you want to. Great for getting use to them for the on-line DMs.

On weekends I can only play between 7:00 and 10:30pm mtn time. I work weekends and gotta have my beauty sleep. :D
Here's another tip. If you want to bind a couple keys to switch right to your primary and secondary weapons, use these commands:

/bind KP_INS "weaptoggle primary primary"

/bind INS "weaptoggle primary secondary"

Change the KP_INS and INS to whatever keys you want to bind.

Also, since it uses the Q3 engine, 125 maxfps is the sweet spot to have your maxfps at. I don't think you can set it to that in the normal menu but you can do it in the console with this command:

/com_maxfps 125

You'll find you can jump on top of things much much easier if your maxfps is set at 125. It makes a world of difference in Q3 Arena.

Pure Luck, Your 7 to 10:30, would be 9 to 12:30 AM my time. I can swing that. Do you have a fast ISP? (DSL or Cable)

I use my mouse wheel to switch weapons.

yeppers. I have Shaw cable. Trigger finger is itchy. :D if you use MSN my id is qec99@hotmail.com I can usually be reached through that for a spur of the moment game. I can be found every night in Q3 at 209.221.142.115:44321 as [em]dAm
Actually if you go <a href="http://www.larryshome.net/QuakeServers.htm" target="_blank">here</a> you'll see my page with live status windows of Q3 servers. I have another page with SOF2 servers but only found one so far to watch.

I downloaded MSN Instant Messager, and put your ID in Add a contact. It said you don't use that program.

You can also find me, by doing a search in the game. Just click Find A Friend, and type in Semper Fi USMC. That is the name I use in this game. <img border="0" alt="[No-no]" title="" src="graemlins/nono.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Laughing]" title="" src="graemlins/lol.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Evil]" title="" src="graemlins/evil.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> :D <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> :p

Use your HFT name in the game.
