I am having trouble with Excel.
I'd like to have a cell format that can convert my decimal number to feet and inches.
For example, if I type 10.5 in a cell, I'd like it to appear as 10'-6".
I've gotten as far as this..

#'-??\"/12, which will show on the screen as 10'-6"/12 if I enter 10.5
Is it possible to hide the /12, or does anyone know of an alternate method of showing feet and inches?
I've been using it with the /12 showing, but some of the people who read my sheets think I'm using half-inches!

Dondo,

I kinda stumbled across this for you by doing a search at groups.google.com ,

try www.geocities.com/davemcritchie/excel/excel.htm (http://www.geocities.com/davemcritchie/excel/excel.htm)

I read through some of the stuff, lots of information, this guy seems to know what he's talking about. I hope this helps.
