Hi to all,
I tried to open my 'PC- cillin'AV programme and the following message came up.
Filter32.VxD Could not find virtual device driver. PC-cillin will now close.
I'll 'enable' Second Chance and try a restore, but still could do with advice in case it 'pops' up again.
Bye for now,
Trev. http://www.helpfromtechs.com/ubb/smilies/frown.gif

I believe it's a file associated with
PC-cillin, it should be in that directory. If you can't find it go to www.antivirus.com (http://www.antivirus.com) , that's the Trend web site, you should be able to get a fresh one from support.

Hmmm, let's see... Now what'd I do with that tag line? No, wait, it's here someplace. Now what'd I do with that darned thing? Hmmm.

Hi dosguy,
Later on I had problems with AOL as well and I couldn't get online.http://www.helpfromtechs.com/ubb/smilies/frown.gif So I used the restore pack that came with my 'bundle' and put back the program file that I backed up (thank god). http://www.helpfromtechs.com/ubb/smilies/smile.gif
Thanks for your input, it's appreciated.
Trev.

That's great, I hope using the restore disk didn't drop you back few updates with
PC-cillin, you might wanna check just to make sure. I run that stuff and there have been a handful of updates the past week or so.

I went to the update now option and theyPC-Cillingot me up to date damn quick, and they also E-mailed me as well. I like their style.http://www.helpfromtechs.com/ubb/smilies/smile.gif
BTW, my AV also quarantined a virus JOKE_GESCHENKfrom a download off my ISP (AOL).
Trend-Micro also bought into Zonealarm back in November? I only read that today.

Hi Trev,
Where might I find that article about Trend buying part of Zonealarm? I'd really like to read that, thanks. Oh by the way, I got an update today from PC-cillian. I'm glad they emailed you in short order, I guess it depends who's working there at the time. I've had it take an inordinate amount of time to get replys. On the whole though I must say I agree with you, they do a pretty good job.

I am late, but this really belongs in Apps and for search purposes I will move it there.. BTW you could have simply downloaded the latest filter32.vxd from http://www.antivirus.com/pc-cillin/download/ select patches and get both scan engines...
