Hi to all,
Had this message when I tried to use a spreadsheet-WKSSS has caused an error in WKSSS.EXE.WKSSS will now close.
If I use a Word document then it's fine.
I am using Office 2000 on Me.
Any help appreciated.

Try this and see if it works it does sometimes and others not. Open up word and click on help. Then on the pull down menu open the detect and repair option. From there just follow the instrutions. Make sure you have your copy of Office 2000 handy.

Hi CanadianMe,
Thanks for your reply. I tried the 'repair'option and not much luck, butI noticed on disc2that installs MS Works,a 3cm hairline fracture on it. Could this be the problem?
Cheers
P.S. problems cropping up everywhere

It will definatly cause a problem. But I dont what your installing off the second disk. Mostly small business stuff. Try this do an uninstall in add remove programs. Then when you reinstall, I would install only what you need. Dont install programs you dont use. But also try making sure during the installation of the office that you run all from your computer. It takes up more space but the files are directly on your HD. Try not installing anything off the second disk unless absolutly necessary. Or even a better idea install nothing from disk 2 and only from disk 1 and see if you have any problems. If you dont you know that the problem is on dik 2. Let me know how it goes.

I borrowed a friends disks and installed them using your idea of the 'custom'setting.
All ok now. If I get Office xp in future, can I pick your brains with that system? http://www.helpfromtechs.com/ubb/smilies/grin.gif
Thanks
